As part of our ongoing ESIA work , in May 2021, we conducted field studies for the Sombwe project with support from the international consulting company Knight Piésold in collaboration with EmiAfrica. Terrestrial and aquatic experts have conducted additional field studies for the planned dam and powerhouse area, for the access road and transmission line. A socio-economic team has conducted public consultation in 22 villages.
The studies are a part of the ongoing revision of the ESIA for Sombwe HPP.
