In 2015, world leaders agreed upon 17 goals they would pursue to achieve a better world by 2030. These goals include ending poverty, fighting inequality and halting climate change. Guided by these goals, it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society and the general public to implement them so as to build a better future for everyone. DRC committed to the SDGs in 2015 alongside 197 other countries.

Key players in the global energy sector have been quick to adopt to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These companies see the SDGs as crucial tools for long-term growth and for adapting to the challenges ahead, and they profile it through their marketing and communication.

KIPAY believes that the private sector, will play a decisive role in delivering the SDGs and thus ensuring a better future – especially in the DRC.

Among the 17 goals, KIPAY has identified Goal 7 on “Affordable and Clean Energy” and Goal 13 on “Climate Action” as being the goals to which it contributes most significantly, in light of KIPAY’s core product, strategy and future growth within renewable energy. KIPAY also contributes to the realisation of other SDGs, such as Goal 2 on Health and well-beingand  Goal 8 on Decent work and economic growth.
